The space
It's 60 mins from Cape Town central. *Loadshedding- See below for details.
This lovely home, which is calmly situated high in the mountains overlooking False Bay, is ideal for couples or families. Comfortably sleeping a maximum of 8 adults in 4 bedrooms, with 2 Snoozas for kids.
Situated in the mountain, you will find small creatures and harmless insects.

The large main bedroom, with king bed, has a generous bath in the centre and two modern wet showers with jets.

Two other rooms share a bathroom.

The 4th room is a semi-private en-suite and is accessed by stairs right next to the house.

The lockable garage has a lift with direct access down to the house.

You have access to a dishwasher and a washing machine.

Note: There is no pool or Jacuzzi cover. Guests who arrange to stay here take full responsibility for pool and jacuzzi access.

Note: You are booking a self-catering place with a refresh for stays longer than a week. Enquire about housekeeping before booking.

Loadshedding proof. 8kW solar powered inverter backup system at French Breeze.

Up power during loadshedding:
- most things in the house like all lights, wall plugs, fridge, freezer, microwave, 1 cooking plate, toaster, coffee machine, internet, TV, alarm system, elevator.

What will not have power during loadshedding:
- jacuzzi pumps & heating
- all aircons
- the 2 ovens in the kitchen
- hot water geysers
The hot water geysers are solar powered with electrical backup for cloudy days. They store 300 litres of hot water, enough to bridge a 2.5 hour loadshedding.

There is nothing you have to do, the system switches over to solar power / inverter and back to mains automatically. Anyhow, we ask guests to switch off unused appliances and lights and not use any heaters during loadshedding.
Guest access
Full house and garage.

Neighborhood overview
The beautiful home is nestled in the gorgeous, peaceful, well-established neighborhood of False Bay. Although more than an hour from Cape Town’s waterfront and Table Mountain, this is the ideal food, wine, surfing, and wildlife destination.

This is nature, scenery, food, wine, surfing, beach, wild life destination.

You are more than an hour from Cape Town’s Water Front. And Table Mountain.

But you are close to Cape Point Nature reserve. Hippy Scarborough, surfing Kommetjie and Misty Cliffs, imhof Farm is a nice stop, Noord Hoek on your way to Houtbay just before Chapmans Peak drive is the Food barn for great food. Cape Point Wine is great for food and wine - great market on Thursdays afternoon evenings.

Chapmans Peak is a great drive to Houtbay, in Hout Bay try the hotel for seafood and some great wine.

Back at Simonstown see the African Penguins, go swim at Boulders Beach or Water's Edge. Restaurants in Simonstown not great. But Savue and Lighthouse are the only ones you can try. Salty Sea Dog is for cheap fish and chips. Not bad but nothing fancy.

Fish Hoek town is pretty ugly but buy food a Woolworths. The beach is popular with kids, mothers and grannies.

Kalk Bay is very cool. Party and restaurants. Try Cape To Cuba for drinks, coctails and nachos. No other food. Brass Bell is great; go to the old pub up the stairs if you walk in - locals. Olympia is great for food, service not excellent.

Muizenberg is very popular for surfing. Lots and lots of surfers. Old and young. Great restaurants like Tigers Milk. Go over the railway line to a few nice places like Striped Horse or something.

Further away is Constantia for more than, 15 wine farms to taste wine until you cannot taste anything any more.

Have fun.

If you go for wine tasting get a driver.
Getting around
Own transport recommended. Very few Ubers.
