House Rules

- This is a self catering home not a hotel. We provide a starter pack of essetials and you must get more if you need. Additional cleaning is only one in 7 days for long stays.
- The house can be freezing and can be damp during winter. It's not advisable to stay here if are not familiar with Cape Town during winter. See "Other Things To Note"
- You are aware that this home is subject to South African Loadshedding before you reserve this accommodation
- Peaceful retreat and quiet at 09:00 pm
-No additional overnight guests.
-check in after hours carry a fee.
-You are booking and paying per person, ensure you have entered the correct number of people (even if they are staying for a shorter time). All extra guests will be charged for accordingly.
-Water and power are a scare resources. Be reasonable. Any abnormal use is for your account. Electricity usage above 50 units is for guests account.
-No loud noise after 10:00 pm; have fun but respect your neighbours.
-The accommodation is for short-term residential rentals. It is not for parties, receptions, festivals, meetings, commercial use, or guests above the registered number. If you intend any commercial use please ask before booking. If you use it for commercial purposes without permission R10000 is payable immediately for each day it was used or part of a day. Rental doesn't qualify as residency or allow use of our mailing address. Should you need a package(s) delivered, please ask in advance for permission or options.
-Please help us and abide by the city water restrictions at the time of your visit.
-Smoking is only to be enjoyed outdoors, away from doors and windows.
-Please do not make any fires in strong winds and ensure all flames are extinguished after use.
-No laundry is to be hung on balconies and balustrades.
- Parking is only allowed in designated spots.
- The third room a smaller loft room with dedicated steps from the main living area.
-As a guest, you are by South African law required to have travel insurance for your party. You may have to show this at Airports.
-Guests agree to stay for the days booked only. In case you or any guests in your party require quarantine you will require to vacate the home at no later than the end of your agreed departure date. If we can accommodate you for quarantine we can inform you. If you don't depart from the accommodation a penalty of at least R20000 is payable. And in addition at least R8000 per night thereafter for non agreed dates
-you are responsible for locking up and taking security precautions at the house.
-no furniture is to be moved around

The space
Mbali Lodge is a luxurious private family home. Set in the serenity and breathtaking beauty of Table Mountain’s nature reserve, it is just minutes from the Cape’s famous beaches, vineyards, restaurants and exclusive shopping.

There is plenty to suit all tastes here.

A three story house that is perfect for 3 couples or a family.
Three beautiful bedrooms: main bedroom on entry level with en-suite bath and extra separate shower (semi-covered roof (open to outside) and fully private- see images).
The second bedroom one floor down, near the garage has an en-suite shower and private stoep. The third bedroom, with dedicated access via stairs, is one floor up on the private loft area with en-suite bath.

The main level living and kitchen area is a stunning open plan space with dining inside or on the wide wooden deck - the perfect spot for enjoying a glass of the Cape's best.

Excellent cafés and restaurants abound nearby in case you do not feel tempted by Mbali Lodge’s fully equipped modern kitchen or its smart built-in braai (barbecue) around the corner from the private lap pool.
You are on the doorstep of a nature reserve so be sure to expect nature.

The home is set in a nature reserve and as such you can expect many harmless bugs to visit you.
We have never had any baboons but they are always active and may visit the suburb. Alwasy ensure you close windows and doors when away.

Note* You are booking a self-catering place with a refresh for stays longer than a week. Enquire about housekeeping before booking.

The Erf behind the house is being developed into a home. It can be noisy at times. Please enquire when booking as to the progress. (2024 June)

Mbali (meaning ‘flower’ in Zulu) has scenic mountain trails to explore on the doorstep and the country’s oldest vineyards just down the road, as well as Hout Bay’s long sandy beaches. Meanwhile the buzz of Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront and central Cape Town are all within easy reach.
Getting around
A car is recommended, unless you plan to use a taxi service.
